After 25 years in the sport, owner Maddy Gober still hasn’t figured out how to say goodbye. She knows advancing up the levels also means outgrowing the skills of kind teachers, or reaching the limits of a schoolmaster’s scope.

So she did what any sane horse girl would do.

She acquired 100 pristine Kentucky acres to house them all.

ABOUT US

Together with husband Redding Gober, Ardenridge Farm was conceived, planned, and built to the specifications of the horses Maddy knows and loves. Tall fences, massive stalls, roomy trailers. Tiny details all coming together to not just accommodate bigger warmbloods and athletic performance horses, but to ensure they thrive.

The Sheep

Our fluffy flocks graze down weeds on rotation, keeping the pastures at Ardenridge chemical free.

The Goats

SUSTAINABLE FARMING

GOAT & LAMB

In addition to their role in pasture maintenance at Ardenridge, our goats and lambs are an ethically raised and sustainable meat source. Grass-fed and grass-finished (with occasional scraps from the garden!), we offer a limited quantity each year to the public.

ALFALFA

The soil at Ardenridge produces an incredible yield. From 3-4 cuttings come some 15,000 small bales of horse-quality alfalfa each year, with high protein content and excellent leaf retention. Local delivery available.

  • Goats/Sheep: Whole or half available, all meat is processed and packaged locally. Once your lamb or goat comes of age you’ll receive a list of custom cuts to select from and a date for pick-up from our local butcher shop. Halal available by request.

  • Alfalfa: Delivery available to Lexington and surrounding communities. Join the Wait List to be notified of upcoming cuttings.

A carefully considered retirement solution

From the strategically positioned barn to the graded pastures, custom grass seed, natural pasture management, and 60-acre alfalfa field, we stayed true to the lay of the land while building for the well-being of the horse.
